Chinese astrology is based upon animals and the ways that these animals think and behave. Each individual sign has its strengths, weaknesses, dislikes, and likes. Certain signs should never be together while others are ideal combinations that will result in lifelong happiness. The Chinese zodiac is divided into four groups, each with three different animals. These groups are based upon the way that the Chinese scholars believed the animals thought. The first group is the Mouse (or Rat), Dragon, and Monkey. The second is the Buffalo (or Ox), Snake, and Cock. Third group is the Tiger, Horse, and Dog. The fourth group is the Cat, Goat, and Pig. Interestingly, the Cat is not included in Chinese astrology except as a mention, as the legends say that the Cat was banned from the zodiac so no one has that sign. Matchmakers use a chart that tells how compatible each sign is with another. For example, the Pig only rates a 4 with the Snake. Pigs are peace loving and like cooperation. They are not usually looking for huge challenges or risks. They are very sensitive and loving. The Snake on the other hand is alert, diplomatic, and very in control. They will stop at nothing to achieve their goals and have a tendency to dwell on things. Snakes align with the fire element and have fiery tempers to match. They also have a tendency to control the Pig if there is a match, where the Pig ends up second to everything and miserable. The only way that match would work is if the Pig has the Cat’s cunning and can manipulate the Snake while allowing it to believe it’s still in control. It is important to understand each sign’s individual strengths and weaknesses when making a match using Chinese astrology, as a combination of the wrong animals will lead to disaster. |
